Steve Hofmeyr, star of Packed House Productions’ Dis Hoe Dit Was - Die Steve Hofmeyr storie, is making dreams come true.

On Saturday 27 October seven children with life-threatening illnesses, accompanied by their parents and staff members of Reach For A Dream Foundation will be part of the audience at the 3pm matinee of Dis Hoe Dit Was – Die Steve Hofmeyr storie and will get to meet their super hero Steve Hofmeyr after the show.

Packed House Productions, ABSA and Reach For A Dream Foundation have joined hands to fulfil the dreams of these seven children.

Absa fully supports the objectives of the Reach For A Dream Foundation – helping children believe in the power of their dreams. Steve Booysen, Absa Group Chief Executive says "we are delighted that we are making dreams come true for these children and to be able to afford them the opportunity of experiencing the magic of the theatre and the excitement of meeting their superstar Steve Hofmeyr."

Packed House Productions, with its vision of ”bringing magic to the stage” has continued to thrill audiences with this production of Dis Hoe Dit Was – Die Steve Hofmeyr storie. Paul Berning, Chief Operating Officer says “realising a dream means reaching for it, and we at Packed House Productions are honoured to help these kids realise their dream.”

Reach For A Dream is a non-profit organisation that works tirelessly to fulfil the dreams of children of all income groups and of any race, colour or creed between the ages of 3 and 18 years who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. The Foundation believes in the power of dreams and helps children to use their dreams to fight their illnesses. It strives to bring hope and encouragement to families and their children so that they know that tomorrow is worth fighting for and that smiles can still be a part of their lives today. Whatever the dream, it is often the power of that dream that can give the child the encouragement they need to fight and beat their illness.

On Saturday 27 October Steve Hofmeyr will provide that power. His management, Big Heart Productions says proudly “we have never seen this superstar once deny a child a moment of attention, or a fan a firm handshake or autograph".

Dis Hoe Dit Was – Die Steve Hofmeyr storie, proudly supported by Absa with Kyknet as a media partner, is playing to ‘packed houses’ at the Opera House, State Theatre, Pretoria until 18 November 2007.
