National LGBTI Art Competition at Pink Loerie Mardi Gras 2011

A nationwide LGBTI fine art competition was launched by the Foreplay Energy Drink Pink Loerie Mardi Gras & Arts Festival recently. LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex) artists from across Southern Africa are invited to submit three of their works to the organisers in any medium.

The works will be adjudicated on photographs submitted, from which three artists will be invited to exhibit at the prestigious gallery Knysna Fine Arts. The judge will be the owner of Knysna Fine Arts, renowned gallery owner and art critic, Trent Read.

The winner will be announced at a cocktail and oyster party at Knysna Fine Arts, 6 Long Street from 6 pm on Thursday 28 April 2011.

The winning prize will be an exhibition at Knysna Fine Arts if the standard of the winning entry is of exhibition calibre.

Artists are invited to submit at least three different completed works by sending different photographs as well as a title, dimensions and media used to coenie@pinkloerie.co.za . The final date for submissions is 14 April 2011.

Attendance of the event is open to all sponsors, performers and guests invited to the VIP dinner at Noetzie Castles on the Friday.
