Boekbedonnerd 2011: Visual art

Bibi Slippers - 2011-11-03

With the transformation of Richmond from book town to picture book town, there was a pronounced focus on the visual arts at this year’s festival. Modern Art Projects put on exhibitions by prominent South African artists Roger Ballen and Abrie Fourie, and exhibited selected works by Jan van der Merwe and Gordon Froud, among others.

Mural artists Mike Norris and Louise Gershie launched the picture book town project, each painting a mural on the side of the Guild Hall.
