Get back into the driver's seat

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." – Mark Twain

Whether you are a banker, consultant, writer, artist, personal assistant or gardener, being able to tap into your inner creativity enhances your life. Being creative means following your dreams and finding your life's purpose. For whatever reason, most of us get trapped in the daily busy-ness of life and leave our passion behind. Or we become a victim of our own fears of failure and self-doubt, and are unable to take the risk and make the jump.

Do your sometimes feel you're just a spectator? That your life is playing out on a stage in front of you while you're sitting in the audience? Perhaps you want to make changes, but you don't know how. Who do you trust with your deepest fears, worries, headaches, wants, needs and desires?

The gurus tell us to live our dreams and manifest our destinies. We try and try and eventually give up. The Artist's Way (a book by Julia Cameron) is a gentle path to the artistic recovery of your True Self. And yes, we are all artists... creating the reality we want moment by moment each day.

With the basic principle that creative expression is the natural direction of life, this course leads you through a comprehensive twelve-week program to recover your creativity from a variety of blocks – including limiting beliefs, fear, self-sabotage, jealousy, guilt, addictions, and other inhibiting forces – replacing them with artistic confidence and productivity. Also share in the timeless secrets of manifestation, prosperity and abundance, making them part of your daily life.

Kobus Burger now facilitates a life-enhancing course based on The Artist's Way. The playshop offers valuable group support, encouragement and healing within a nurturing environment.

Kobus Burger is a journalist, poet, playwright, workshop facilitator, radio host and breathworker (‘breath coach’). He trained in 2007 as a creativity coach with America's foremost creativity coach, dr. Eric Maisel, and completed the Advanced Training in 2010. Kobus also applies the methods and principles of Hakomi – body-centered psychotherapy (the new revolutionary therapy by dr. Ron Kurtz) in his work.

The playshop is conducted in ENGLISH.

The cost is R700 per month (excluding the book, valued at about R200). This includes tea/coffee (refreshments), basic materials and notes. Total cost is R2 100 for 13 weeks, but please enquire about the early bird discount.

The group is limited to 6 participants so book ASAP!

Please contact Kobus Burger @ 082 950 7327 or e-mail innerray@yahoo.co.uk to reserve your place.

“Creativity belongs to the artist in each of us. To create means to relate. The root meaning of the word ART is to fit together and we all do this every day. Not all of us are painters but we are all artists. Each time we fit things together we are creating – whether it is to make a loaf of bread, a child, a day.”Corita Kent

Want to know more?

Within the 12 weeks we'll play with the following:

* Your Enemy Within: Core Negative Beliefs * Skepticism * Anger * Shame
* Pampering yourself * Dealing with criticism * Buried Dreams & how to bring them back to the surface * Money * Risk * Jealousy * Perfectionism * Fear * Enthusiasm
* Blasting through blocks * Trust * How to use your imagination

Julia Cameron says:

* "People believe that they have to change their entire life to be happy. If we change little teeny pieces every day, we get happier, and often the last thing we change is the big job. "

* "One woman may want to unblock herself as a painter, but six weeks into the creative process, she may find herself picking up the guitar. Or a man desperately wants to get songs for his CD, and seven weeks later, he's doing pottery and watercolor. You can't predict what you're going to unblock, but everybody is much larger than they think they are. I help people sort of re-pot themselves and get a bigger root system so they get more abundant foliage."

* "Our great fear is "What if I want to do something, and I love it, but I have no talent for it?" I think that's asking the wrong question. The real question is, "What if I have the talent, but in this life, I have never had the courage to try it out?" I give people a tool kit that makes them feel safe enough to be a beginner, to do the baby steps and find their feet."
